GETTING TO KNOW BILL RUDGE

In his teenage years, Bill Rudge participated in many rebellious activities — even illegal ones. Through his dedication to weight lifting, he became the instructor at a health spa and eventually gained notoriety in the karate dojo as "Godzilla."

Bill tried almost everything imaginable, but his restless spirit would not be tamed. His search for meaning and purpose was not achieved through any of his youthful adventures, not even hitchhiking across the country to find himself. But on May 23, 1971, at the age of 18, "Godzilla" was tamed. His life was dramatically changed through a personal encounter with the resurrected Christ!

Three months after accepting Christ, Bill and his young wife, Karen, enrolled in Bible college. While there, Bill served as youth leader for an area church and also taught classes in physical fitness and self-defense at the college and the YMCA.

After graduating from Mt. Vernon Bible College (now L.I.F.E. Bible College East) in 1975 with a B.A. in Bible, Bill served as youth minister at a church in North Carolina and trained with Youth for Christ. Bill is an ordained minister with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. He is a member of Who's Who in Executives and Professionals.

In August 1977, Bill and Karen started Bill Rudge Ministries of Living Truth, Inc. with literally no money, staff, or facilities — just a lot of God-given faith, desire, and determination. While most thought the goals of these two young people could never be achieved, Bill and Karen believed that God would be faithful to fulfill what He led them to do — and He has!

Bill has truly built his life and ministry on Philippians 4:13 — "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." As a result, he has faced the challenges of overwhelming obstacles and has seen the Lord do the impossible through his life and ministry.

Bill now realizes that, even before accepting Christ, God had His hand on his life and was protecting and preparing him for his future ministry. God has taken the experiences and abilities of Bill's youth and miraculously redirected and increased them to be used for His glory.

Bill and Karen helped young people find meaning and purpose for life through their Teen Life, Kids Life, and Youth Development programs which became some of the most effective outreaches for youth his area has ever seen. Bill taught and held seminars on Biblical principles of health and fitness through instruction on proper exercise, nutrition, and mental attitude and taught self-defense clinics. They also had a program which challenged the cults, occult, and eastern mysticism that was sweeping the country. Bill spoke and did demonstrations that enabled him to share Christ, exposing the dangers of spiritual counterfeits.

Today, Bill and Karen’s growing international outreach ministry is focused on speaking engagements, missionary outreaches, radio broadcasts, and distribution of Bill’s many books, cassettes, and pamphlets to countless people throughout the world. They continue to challenge believers to reach their maximum potential in Christ by being Biblical Christians.

Bill is a dedicated and determined man with an exciting background, a dynamic ministry, and tremendous goals and vision for the future. He daily seeks to live under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and to glorify the Lord with every aspect of his life.
